Free Assessment - We are determined to find the best tutor for each student. We dedicate the first session to meeting the student and parents, and carrying out an initial knowledge assessment of the subject of tutoring to help create a personalized tutoring plan, all for free
Learning Materials - We find that students in K - Grade 7 often don’t receive sufficient instruction, attention, and homework at school. This is why we have our own teaching materials for our younger students! We tailor our materials to the BC and IB curriculum that we teach according to syllabus. We use these materials to guide our sessions, using them for teaching, practice, and as homework for the student, especially when worksheets from school are absent or lacking.
A Personalized Approach - We help our students keep up and excel in school by filling the missing components through our AKILI materials and making sure learning is personalized, fun, and engaging! We make sure to incorporate the student's learning style into our teaching, be it visual, auditory, or textile.
Homework - We help the students build a strong foundation and better understand their homework, guiding them through homework step by step without solving it for them by providing instruction and similar questions. We reinforce homework given at school by checking it and encouraging the student to stay on top of their assignments.
Test skills - If the student's level and effort is not reflected in their marks, we focus on exam taking skills by incorporating short tests in our sessions to familiarize them with the setting of working under time constraints and identify areas of improvements for us to focus on with them during our sessions.
