I started my education in Pakistan. My parents immigrated to Canada when I was in grade 11 and I got to experience the BC grade 11 and 12 curricula. I then went on to complete my Bachelor's Degree in International Relations at Simon Fraser University. I felt privileged that I had the opportunity to compare the education systems of two vastly different academic structures. This made me want to help other international students integrate in the Canadian education system. After I graduated from SFU, I worked as an application consultant at International Student Connection. I helped international students with Canadian university application processes. During this time, I tutored English as a Second Language (ESL). I joined AKILI Tutoring in 2017 and started to assist elementary school children with Mathematics K - 7, Reading and Writing . I am fluent in English, Urdu, and able to communicate in; French, Hindi, and Punjabi. Having an academic and multilingual background, I am fully aware of the challenges students face. Therefore, my approach is to make lessons fun and engaging. In an environment where students feel supported and empowered.

My journey in education started at home in Tanzania, where I honed my teaching skills by assisting my siblings to excel in their studies. This experience was complemented by my role as a peer tutor at school, where I assisted my classmates in understanding math and science concepts. My approach to tutoring is based on figuring out the best way to explain new concepts to students as each individual has their own way of learning. Now based in Canada, I am an International master's student at the University of British Columbia majoring in Geomatics in environmental management. I’m excited to continue hands-on experience and inspire students to achieve their academic goals in mathematics and sciences.

I lived in Russia until the age of 15, at which point I moved to Vancouver. I finished high school and began my post-secondary education on the North Shore. I have always had a passion for helping people. Tutoring has been an outlet for that passion for me. I started tutoring my peers when I was in grade 8. Since then I have had 8 years of experience in the field, both working with my University and with tutoring companies. My approach to tutoring stems from the fact that I want to help grow students' confidence in their own skills. To achieve this, I ensure that students truly grasp each concept they are learning. Doing so allows them to understand that they are capable of working with the concept even after they leave the tutorial.

I am an undergraduate Biology student at SFU with a strong passion for teaching and empowering students to reach their full academic potential. My journey as an educator began in grade 11 when my school recognized my great academic performance and entrusted me with teaching younger students. This early experience ignited my love for teaching, which has grown over the past five years.
In Iran, I worked at a math and English institution, helping students build a solid foundation in these subjects. After moving to Canada, I joined multiple freelance platforms, where I taught AP Physics and Math to several students, tailoring lessons to their unique learning styles. At UBCO, I worked as a Biology tutor for first-year students, offering support in navigating challenging concepts. At SFU, I joined the Indigenous Tutoring program, where we can assist students in achieving their academic goals.

I moved to Canada in 2024 to pursue a Master’s degree in Physics at Simon Fraser University, where I’m currently studying with a GPA of 4.33 and expect to graduate by May 2026. I completed my Bachelor’s in Physics at Kharazmi University in Iran with a GPA of 3.8 out of 4. In high school, I participated in the Math Olympiad and passed the first exam by tutoring myself in advanced math topics. This experience taught me how to break down difficult problems and approach learning step by step – a skill I now pass on to my students to help them tackle challenging subjects with confidence. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for courses like Analytical Mechanics, Electromagnetism, and Physics. I helped students understand difficult concepts by leading tutorials, assisting with labs, and explaining topics in simpler ways. I always aimed to create a supportive environment where students felt comfortable asking questions and developing problem-solving strategies. For over two years, I’ve also worked as a private tutor for high school students, teaching Math, Sciences, and programming. I focus on identifying areas where students struggle and guide them through problems step by step until they feel confident. I enjoy seeing students build their skills and gain a better understanding of STEM subjects over time. As President of the Physics Association at Kharazmi University, I organized academic events and workshops to encourage student participation in science and create opportunities for peer learning. I believe that fostering a collaborative environment helps students not only understand concepts better but also enjoy the learning process. My long-term goal is to pursue a PhD and become a researcher in Physics. I’m passionate about deepening my knowledge and contributing to the field, while continuing to mentor and inspire students along the way. I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring. I work to make complex topics more approachable and help students develop strong learning habits. I believe that with the right guidance and support, every student can improve and succeed in their studies

I am a graduate of the University of British Columbia, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering). I started tutoring during my high school years through assisting my classmates with math and science school work as well as volunteering with an after school robotics program for kids. I then went on to continue as a Teaching Assistant for an entry level course in Computer Science at UBC while I studied for my Bachelor's degree. I have a strong grasp of all aspects of K-12 mathematics and various other STEM subjects, such as Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science. I also have extensive experience with competition level mathematics, having participated in and ranked highly in many mathematics competitions from grade 5 onwards, most notably the high school Math Challengers series of both individual and team based competitions. With lots of experience teaching STEM concepts to learners of all levels, I am able to break down the complex concepts and explain them in a way that doesn't simply allow students to complete the given problems, but also to build the fundamentals and problem solving strategies that they can apply to their future studies. I am fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, and can assist with French and Japanese as well, having studied both languages to an intermediate level. I hope to be able to help students build confidence and further their personal growth through tutoring.

I am an internationally trained medical professional. I followed 7 years of primary education and 4 years of O'level education in Tanzania. I achieved a National top 10 best student status. I was awarded the highly acclaimed scholarship to complete my high school in Hong Kong. I attended the Li Po Chun United World College and did an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. I won another prestigious scholarship at Simon Fraser University and did a Bachelor of Science Degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Subsequently, I went to the Caribbean for medical school and graduated from Windsor University in St. Kitts. I have successfully passed all my medical board examinations and I am waiting for residency placement. I started tutoring Mathematics to my sister and nephew in Tanzania. I realized each session gave me a sense of fulfillment and wanted to do more. I extended my help to colleagues. When I went to Hong Kong, I did not shy away from Mathematics tutorials to my peers. After coming to Canada, I worked at different tutoring companies helping many students achieve their academic goals. Over the last 12 years, my forte in teaching Mathematics and the Sciences begins with the first session. I have a unique talent to adapt to each student's style of learning and infuse my ingredients. Some of the students I have helped are in law, medical, engineering, nursing, business, and graduate schools. The tutors I have mentored, enjoy their own successes as well. I hope to transform many more students and mentor other tutors through AKILI Education Services Inc.

I am a UBC graduate with a Master of Applied Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering. Altruism has always been a central part of my self-concept, and I have tried to fulfill it in different ways throughout my life. I explained complex mathematics, chemistry, and physics concepts to my classmates sharing the bench with me in high school. I did not anticipate that my explanations could make a difference until I realized two friends were arguing over sitting next to me for the chemistry class! I also received several positive feedbacks from others saying how helpful I was in making complex concepts understandable, resulting in their boosted quiz marks. I noticed that I am well competent in transferring my knowledge to others in an easily understandable way. I tried to utilize my teaching skills in a more challenging environment. In the fourth year of undergrad, I started working as a teaching assistant (TA) for engineering courses. I continued working as a teaching assistant (TA) until I graduated with my master's in 2019. I was engaged in holding tutorial sessions, available during office hours, and marking exams and assignments. My passion for teaching made me pursue tutoring as a profession. In 2017, I started tutoring my sister in Pre-Calculus and Chemistry 11. The word spread, and I got students from grades 10, 11, and 12, and first-year university whom I helped with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. I can teach lower grades as well as select university courses. I am incredibly patient, and my enthusiasm for teaching makes me unbound on time and place during tutorial sessions. I wish to help more and more students and play my part in positively impacting our community. I can teach in English and Farsi, and my long-term goal is to pursue medicine.
